Temple of Apollo at Didyma
Δίδυμα
Two rows of columns ring the Temple of Apollo at Didyma, giving it a dipteral plan, yet it was never finished. People came to it for oracles; inside, an unroofed court held a small shrine, the naiskos, and a sacred spring. In Christian times a basilica replaced the shrine. Excavations in 1906–1913 uncovered the temple and partly restored it.
