Ancient City of Tlos

Τλῶς

An axe of the 2nd millennium BC found at Tlos, in Yaka on the Fethiye–Korkuteli road, shows that the site was settled that early, and the city is thought to have been known then as Talawa. Tlos joined the Lycian League in the 2nd century BC and, unusually, stayed inhabited through the Byzantine period and on into the 19th century.
