Halicarnassus

Ἁλικαρνασσός

The remains of Halicarnassus lie among the streets of modern Bodrum. The Carian satrap Mausolus moved his capital here from Mylasa around 367 BC; in his time work began on his tomb, the Mausoleum, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, and on the city’s theatre and walls.
